Ok, weird preface for this, so please bear with me.

I am recently divorced and my ex kept my MacBook. She has since given it back, the boyfriend was nice enough to upgrade to SSD, but now I have songs on my phone that were previously on the computer that or no longer there. The MacBook was using an external hard drive while she had it, so now iTunes only contains a huge list if songs but no actual music.

So my question is, how do I get these songs on my phone back to my computer? Is this something iTunes Match can help me with, or will it scan iTunes, see that there are no files there only empty placeholders, and I will have wasted $25??

Thanks in advance
