I have the dreaded 128 flash drive in my 2012 MacBook Air. I tried to install the 1.1 Firmware update. It says firmware update not needed for my device.

I read an article that says if my Air tells me the update is not needed, then my device is un-effected and I am ok.

Will Apple still replace the drive? Does it need to be replaced? Should I even worry?

Thanks in advance,

According to Apple, if the update says it's not needed on your MBA, then it's not ended and your drive is fine.

In any case, Apple's extending the repair period on those drives to three years past the purchase date, so if it fails soon, you'll be covered.

Still, I'd make sure you have a good backups.
