I have an iPhone 4 that I have put together(using 2 iPhones, both with different problems), anyway, what I have now is a locked iPhone(bell) and when I insert my sim(Petro-Canada) it just says "No Service" at the top.
My concern here is that the phone's antenna is not working at all, but I may be wrong because I am not sure if it should still say the carrier at the top left when it is not unlocked and has a different sim in it.
So my question is: Will your iPhone still show the Carrier's name of the inserted sim while the phone is unactivated and the sim is not a bell one?
The sim does work. I use it in my iPad
