My pc is currently in the "repair shop" and I want this new update. So can I plug it in to my Dad's pc and update it there without "harming" my iPod or his pc? (by harming I mean snycing any content onto the other)

from what i can tell you have to sync to install the apps, you can update to 1.13, but don't ad them until your on your computer.

Am i right?

yeah, just combining my experience with what i've read here

I'm at work and my Ipod is sync'd to my home comuter
i installed 1.13 and itunes 7.6 no worries from work, then bought the updates, but it wont sync the apps onto my ipod as i "manage music manually".

So will wait until i'm home to add the apps so i don't have to sync with my crappy work computers library

Man! I hate PC's. Mine has a disk read error. How stupid.

so, for arguments sake (and to solve our question) i decided to sync my ipod to my work computer (heck i can always reload my library, but have lost all the album artwork that was on my ipod only :/ ), and the apps have installed, so i'm 100% sure of what i was assuming....

So...

So... Sacrificing the ability to listen to music on my way home tonight, and the time it'll take to reload my library i have concluded that you have to sync to install apps, but not update.

This will erase your music

Ok thanks a bunch for doing sorry about your music though. :/

no worries man, it's only digital music, i have backups. And i didn't want to risk losing the $20 i already paid.

Someone might prove me wrong and that i wasted my time though?
