General question about updating software

I want to update my ipad 4th gen to the new software 7.0.4 from 6.1.2 however I have many downloaded songs stored in varies apps (play tube, mx tube, music box, pandora downloader). If I backup, update software and restore back from the backup, would all my downloaded music from those apps be there? If not, is there a way i can retain them with an update?
