Hey everbody just got a new MBP 16" and now I'm looking for a good USB-C/display hub.

I've looked at some hubs on Amazon and seen here that most of them only support 4k 30hz but they can do 60hz at 2k.

My question is I've got a 4K display, but I run it at 1920x1080 to get retina resolution. I'm guessing it would be 30hz because it's still 2x pixel density. Can anyone confirm/deny before I purchase a hub.

Do not buy a 30Hz hub/dock

spend the $200 on a good one or $15 on a good cable

I did a bit of research on this. There are a LOT of "4K" hubs/cables out there... but you gotta read the fine print. Finding one that is 60Hz, not so easy. I read a lot of consumer reviews too. Some brands seem problematic. Found a USB-C to HDMI cable (6ft) at Best Buy for $54Cdn. Plug and play, works great. Brand was j5Create. Another brand everyone seemed to love was Satechi. I was surprised that even Apple doesn't have this... they only have the 30Hz ones.
