Question about using iPod as camera.

I wasn't too sure where exacty this would go so I posted here in general.
Here is what I want to do:
I would like use my iPod touch (4th gen) as a camera set up in my house to watch my dog during the day. I would like to view on an app or website via my iPhone 4. I have tried to read about making it work but need some clarification. What all do I need to do, or what suggestions can anyone make?
Again, I have an iPhone 4, an iPod touch 4th gen, and wifi at home and a MacBook Pro.

Or if the question is really about a security cam app, I tried a few last year, didnt find anything 100%, google "apple security camera application" (without the ") and see what comes up.
