Question about Video Download Software

i know all about how to download videos off of youtube.com but i was wondering if there was any software that would enable you to download vidoes off of websites other than youtube.

here is what im trying to do, i am putting together the best trance music video ever and the video quality off of the youtube videos is horrible. i have gone to itunes and purchased any i could there but they have a very poor selection. next, i went to the artists websites to see if i could buy them there and many dont even sell their own videos!

so i while i prefer to purchase the videos to get the best quality available i want to see if there was some software that i could buy which would let me download some of these videos that arent for sale directly off of the web???
