Question about Whatsapp

Hi all!
So I lost my iPhone 5s with my SIM card and all my Whatsapp group chats on it.
I have got a new iPhone 5 but have managed to get my same number on a new SIM card which I will activate Whatsapp on.
Is there anyway I will be kept in these groups? Considering I am the admin of the main one which I want access too it will be otherwise impossible to join.

If you had iCloud enabled for it, all your conversations should still be there.

Not sure I did, plus its not a new phone so not sure how I would go about using iCloud? Would I have to reset it and use the assistant again?
