Question about WiFi in MacBook Pro 2015 13’

Hi friends,

I have a MBP 13’ 2015 connected to my home WiFi. Connection is symmetrical fiber optic 300Mbps.

In the MBP, I get 300 Mbps of download but only 150 Mbps of upload speed.

I’m getting 300/300 in my 11 Pro Max, PC...

Is the MBP 2015 capable of only 150 of upload? Or there is some trouble?

It’s capable of more than 300Mb/s in each direction.

if you option click the wifi icon at the top it will show you the connection specifics. What does that show?

Ok. Tested right now and I’m getting 300/300.

Excellent. Next time it seems to be giving you slower speed do the same thing and it might show the answer.

I think it was the same when upload speed was 150. It shows about 800 transmission rate.

I can't really say why that would have happened, there are too many variables. But now you know for sure that it will do 300/300.

300/300!!! I hate your guys. Just kidding. We have asymmetric cable modems 450 mbps down/ 14 mbps up.

FWIW, 2018 MBP on Wifi is as fast (or slow) as a hardwired desktop system.

2018 MBP is as fast (or slow) as a hardwired desktop system.

Until last week, the only choice in my town was poor ADSL 20Mb Down 0.8Mb Up

For me, it’s worth it.

Anyway it’s the only speed option in my company. I pay 50€ for 300/300 fiber, and mobile line with 25Gb data and unlimited calls/texts.

Impressive. We pay nearly $80/mo for cable modem with 450/14. And $50/mo for mobile with 8GB of data, unlimited text/talk.
