Fort Myers, FL USA
going to become a "Snowbird" from New Jersey to Fort Myers, FL. Jan.-May.

My question is that I don't want to have to buy a separate router for Fort Myers. I prefer to bring my router to Florida.

Will I be able to simply connect it to the cable modem down in Florida as I have a cable modem here in NJ and simply be able to use the same password?

Both homes have Comcast Cable internet and the router is:

Netgear Wireless N-150 Router WNR1000 v2

That should be fine. The only issue you might run into is the local Comcast office in FL needing register the MAC address of the router on their system when you first connect it. Some require this, some do not.

Plug it in and try it. If it doesn't work just call them and it takes about 5 minutes. Once it's setup in FL you'll be able to carry it back and forth w/o issue.

Cheers,

Yea shouldnt be any issues at all. Ive moved and done this 3-4 times in the past.
