I have not tried it myself, but this Chrome extension appears to add support for Emoji.

Android Emoji on Chrome

Hi there ~ I know that a million crappy emoji chrome extensions were made and they all work - but there's one that does ~ with the pretty pretty Android Emoji:

Also there is one that shows iPhone emoji - called chromoji

I am not sure as I do not have/use Chrome, but does the Control+Command+Space-Bar method not bring up 'the option list'..?? I know it does in Firefox and Safari.. Hopefully in Chrome as well.. Good Luck!!
