According to the spec sheet of the iPhone 5s,

iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated after September 1, 2013. See www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/ for iOS 7 compatible devices. Downloading apps requires an Apple ID.

That is roughly $40 worth of apps free.

My question:
I'm getting a 5s because I'm still using a 4.
Would I be able to use these "free" apps on my currently owned devices?

We don't know yet. Probably. when you buy a mac, you get ilife (around an $80 value) free which you can then register with your apple id and get it on other devices. So I is most likely the case that you can get the apps on your 4 after you get them on the 5s.

Yup you just need to buy a new device to download the apps then use them on your devices just like any another app

When you turn on your new iOS device for the first time it will prompt you to download those apps for free.

But these apps would only be for the iOS? Was thinking of maybe buying the 5C or 5S, but I have a MBA I just bought last month...so I'm confused if it's just for the iOS or Mac OS as well :s
