Question before buying

Hi all!
I'm new to Mac's World and this year I'd like to pass from Windows to Mac (I can't stand Windows anymore).
This fall I'm going to college and so I need a new laptop for studying and, in case, also playing some games in my free time.
The question is: How is Macbook Pro top - end 15" in games?
I'm not a hardcore gamer, I just would like to play some games when I can.

I have the 2011 high end 15 in and it works great! I'm able to play steam games (Civ5/Portal/Conviction/Team Fortress) without a hitch.

That's what I wanted to hear. I love Macbook Pro's style and I need a notebook that does everything I want fine.

I have a 17" with upgraded ram, which is comparable to the high-end 15"... it plays just about everything great, most of them running at native resolution and with the graphics on high too.

I have a late 2008 MBP, and I can still play all the games they are talking about without a hitch. (15/17in) MBP are the bomb!

Anyway, sometimes, in my free time, it's possible that I play some games.
