Hi there

I have sort of an off-the-wall question.
I will be giving a Powerbook to a friend who is a native mandarin speaker. I wondered if there are any good books (hopefully in chinese) which explain how best to configure OSX for chinese - and teach the basics of OSX and the iLife suite?

I did a google on this and didnt come up with much.. but my assumption is that is because i (personally) dont read chinese so i couldnt do a chinese search...

thanks for any pointers!

Hi -

Try these links.

http://www.beimac.com/modules/news/ (might be able to give you some tips)

And this article by the president of beimac gives some info about Chinese mac books:

http://www.macsimumnews.com/index.php/archive/peoples_republic_of_mac_a_sea_of_characters

His email is linked there, you could always mail him for specific titles.

Remember, if your friend is from Taiwan, he´ll probably prefer an edition in traditional characters. A mainland Chinese will want simplified characters.

Edit: It occurred to me that you are probably getting this person a Mac with the OS in English. In that case, this is a great site that explains using Chinese on Mac:
