Question concerning Cleardock

I was just curious if anyone knew why Cleardock added more space between the dock? For example when you color the dock, the space between the trashcan and the rest of the dock is increased, as well as the overall padding around the dock (I noticed this when left justifying the dock with Onyx). Does anyone know why this is, and if there is a way to adjust that?

No I haven't.. it just seems to add like a pixel or two of padding for some reason.
