I am looking to find out what options I have for renaming my device. Right now I have my name as my device ID. When I look on my router setting DCHP clients, I see JOES IPOD as connected to 192.168.1.105 I would prefer to change this so as not to identify myself on my device via wifi when I connect to a network.

Anyone know if I can change this or do I have to reset or is it even possible at that point?

I have changed the name of my device in Itunes, but it still shows the same on my router.

Any suggestions?

Yes, in the iPod OS try;

Settings > Wi-Fi > Select your SSID > touch "Client ID" and type in the desired DNS name.

{EDIT} You will likely need to renew your lease for the change to take effect on the router
