QUESTION! Fixing back light in PB 12"?

Greetings All,

Does any one know how to fix a faulty back light in a screen? Would the power inverter thingy be to blame? B/c I found a *steal* of powerbook on ebay, but the only problem is the back light is apparently not functioning... I've read before it's impossible to get in to access the back of the screen, so i'm thinking this wouldnt be a good idea, but i wanted your thoughts!!
