I’d like to ask current users of the Vision Pro whether, in my situation, they would choose to purchase it.

At the moment, I’m using a MacBook Pro with a 27” Studio Display. My work mainly involves writing medical expert reports, academic articles, and general office tasks (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). I’m curious to hear about your experiences working with the device—especially now with support for ultrawide displays. I’d also occasionally use it for work while traveling, some movies etc but primary purpose is paperwork. Or should i buy another studio display? I need little bit more display space. Is text sharpness much lower on vision comparing to studio monitor? I dont wear glases. Ussually i sit on desk up to 3 hours no longer. Thanks!

I've used it to grade papers using the ultra wide display connected to my MacBook Pro. I sit in my recliner, which is nice. I don't have a studio display to compare it to, but the quality is quite good. When I'm grading, I might work up to 5 hours at a stretch. I have the Belkin strap along with my Apple solo knit band strap.

It really doesn't sound from your description like you'd get a lot of use out of it.

The Studio Display is much sharper and has better color, but the Vision Pro is "portable" and has a much "larger" display. That's the main difference.

For reading, you're better off getting a dedicated reader, e.g. Amazon's Kindle or Kobo/Boox/PocketBook e.g. https://us.kobobooks.com/products/kobo-elipsa-2e?variant=40542904352838

When sitting at your desk, I don't see what benefit using a Vision Pro would be. Unless you're just using it occasionally when you really need a lot more space? I'd just get a second display.

Away from your desk, just with your laptop, using it connected to macOS gives you a massive working space which is very clear, bright, crisp text etc. That feature has been a game changer for me as it give you access to a large ultra wide display wherever you are.

I use mine every day for work purposes. This does not include marking papers, but I do use Word and Excel frequently, I find it makes life much easier and wouldn’t be without it now.

In your position, however, I would definitely wait for the next generation. The weight is certainly an issue whilst you get used to it, but there are aftermarket solutions which make it more than comfortably enough to use for a full eight hour day.

I went to app store in germany and tried it . Thanks for answer. I will wait for next gen hoping it will be little bit lighter and its gonna be instant buy :D
I was going to say that other than the weight it would probably be a good choice for you. Text seems super clear to me on the AVP. The increased screen space and refresh rate compared to a Studio Display would be of use. I mainly use mine for movies and games but I am always impressed on how clear text looks on it. The weight doesn't bother me at all but I know for most people it seems to be the biggest complaint.

If you have a studio display I say it's not worth it in its current form. Too heavy and after all the quality on the display is still better.

I have a Studio Display and a Mac Studio. I use the AVP’s ultra wide display whenever I have to look at multiple windows simultaneously. It’s wonderful for that use case, though I don’t know that alone would justify the cost.

But I also use my AVP daily for watching 2D, 3D, and immersive video, as well as a virtual planetarium and other apps. I also love using it when flying.

What planetarium app is that?

Our EHR works flawlessly on the vision pro as an iPad app but a fully native VisionOS version is releasing in fall (God willing)! So for my medical billing, file management etc is a no brainer. Works great with the files app to import and export stuff scanned in from the front desk. If anyone is interested I'll make a forum post about the workflow.
