I am considering getting a 4GB/256GB refurb, and am just wondering about the battery life on the 2011 with Mountain Lion installed. I understand the battery life in the 2011's originally were nothing to write home about, but since installing Mountain Lion, has it improved. What is everyone getting, on average with normal use? I currently have the 2010, and get around 4.5-5 hours, so I am hoping to be on par with that...

Though anecdotal, I would expect similar performance. It's so hard to gauge what "normal use" is, so take this with a grain of salt.

I get a little over 5 hours with my 2011 - it's better than my 2010 was

Just normal, as in web browsing, e-mail and such.. nothing too intensive.

While reading with low brightness and no wi-fi (reading a book) you can get 6 hours.

Browsing really depends. It's different just reading blogs which should last around 5 hours and browsing 9gag or playing games which will reduce it to maybe 3.
