hey guys,

i need your help for an app i am developing:

if you go to your Phone app and from there go to Contacts view (note: not the Contacts app on the home page though), do you see your phone number at the very top above the search bar? (might have to drag the screen down to see it). if there is a number, does it show up in international format or local format? in other words: do you see your country code first?

(also, does the same number show the same number at the top of the Settings->Phone menu?)

thanks!

P.S. -- if you also can tell me what country and provider you have, that will help too.

Hi there,

Denmark
Provider: Sonofon
Latest updates

Phone app: Nothing
Contacts app: Nothing

There is nothing above the search bar, and I have looked around and dragged it unnaturally down ;)

In Japan, language set to English (USA).

The phone number shows in both places, unformatted. 01234567890 ...

Kind of off topic (?) but I've actually specified in Address Book on my Mac that these numbers should be formatted 012-3456-7890, and they show up that way on my computer, but not on the iPhone. It's kind of irritating.

when people got the original iPhone in australia there was some hack they had to do to the phone for local number formatting regardless of how they were setup in address book.

you need to specify in iPhone your prefered phone number format: Settings -> General -> International -> Region Format

O2 in the UK

Mine shows on the Phone Contacts screen and Settings Phone

It is in Local Format, 01234 567890

I live in Spain.

Carrier: Movistar ( Telefonica )
iPhone: 3G 16GB
Type: Contract

I cannot see my own number anywhere. I searched about this a couple of weeks ago because I noticed that some people had it. It turns out that some providers don't bother to write your phone number to the sim card.

You can do this by putting your into a phone which allows you to save a special number to the sim. It is annoying because I feel left out on something useful.
simcard
Another thing is that if you can see that number it also appears in iTunes under Summary.

Wish I could have this tiny feature working, damn Movistar!
