Because for my business, I need rock-solid Google Apps IMAP for work email, I am only now testing Mavericks 10.9.5 -- having waited out the earlier iterations where there were plenty of problems with Apple Mail and Gmail IMAP.
I have a spare, older MacBook Pro with SSD that I'm going to do a clean install of Mavericks 10.9.5
This question is for people who've run Gmail IMAP concurrently on Mavericks and Mountain Lion on different computers:
When you were experiencing Gmail IMAP problems on Mavericks, was it the case that the Mountain Lion mail on other computers continued to be problem-free?
i.e. I'm wanting to check that, even if Mavericks causes email problems on my test computer, that's not going to affect the Gmail IMAP running smoothly on my other work-related Mountain Lion MBP's.
I might be over-cautious, but I have to be given the nature of my work.
