For those who have two Apple Watches - one for exercise/around house and one for going out or going to work, I have a question.
I have two Series 5 - both Space Gray Aluminum, one GPS and one Cellular+GPS - but I miss my SS watch for when I went out or went to work.
For those who have two - are they both Cellular? I like having the Cellular one when out running/bike riding for music but more for keeping in touch (or in case of an accident). But if I decide to go back to one Stainless Steel one, I would prefer the Aluminum one to be the Cellular one (see last sentence). I figure when I go to work or go out, I would generally have my iPhone anyway, so don't need the Cellular watch.
Thoughts - or the way you use your watches?
Thanks

I only have one, but for what it's worth, I agree with you - the "exercise watch" (probably the aluminum) would be the one I'd want the cellular plan on. Of course, there's no such thing as a "wifi only" SS model, so both watches would have LTE, but you'd just activate it on the aluminum and not the SS.

I have three watches - an S5 Stainless Steel, an S5 Ceramic, and an S6 Nike aluminum - the two s5's have cellular capability, but I've no need for it, so I never activated it. I always have my phone with me.

I ended up getting a Series 6 Blue Aluminum Cellular watch. Thought about going back to Stainless Steel now but don't love the new Graphite color. To me it looks too similar to the Space Grey Aluminum watch. Hopefully when the Series 7 comes out they will go back to the Space Black. Otherwise I will live with two Aluminum ones. Will definitely replace my other Series 5 if the 7 has the rumored blood sugar level. (Being a borderline diabetic figure it would be cool.)

Understand your thoughts. But when I go out to jog or bike ride - especially when in warmer weather and not wearing an outer garment - I prefer not having to carry my iPhone.

I have a Nike AW aluminum 6 that is my running/workout watch and a SS Apple Watch 4 that is my "nice" one. They are both cellular models, but I only have service on the exercise one. Whenever I am wearing the SS one my phone is usually nearby so I don't keep service on both watches.

I have a series 6 aluminum with LTE that is activated and that I use for exercise or anytime I don't want/need to carry the phone such as dog walking. I also have a series 6 titanium that has LTE not activated. I use both watches equally with no problem and enjoy the titanium for dressier occasions and just to look at (first ti watch) when the phone will be with me.

I have 2, a S4 SS gold, and a S5 SS black. Both are cellular and activated. The S5 is my everyday watch and is the one linked to my cell phone number. The S4 is my "dress" watch and has its own separate phone number. Thats the only way I can activate both of them on T-mobile. I could probably get by with the S4 not having cellular but for $10 a month it is cheap insurance in case I get separated from my phone. The S5 must be cellular since I like to go out for exercise without taking my phone and for music and keeping in touch I need that. I also enjoy the convenience of using Apple Pay when I may have left my phone in the car, regardless of which watch I am wearing. I tend to buy last years tech at a discount so purchasing both of them with cellular was not a major purchase decision. I did previously have an S0 non cellular and S3 cellular, and switching back and forth between them I was caught a few times wishing they were both cellular so that's the way I have gone with my newer ones.

is it possible to have Apple ID on two watches at the same time? I would like to keep my S3 when I upgrade to S7 or 8 and use it just for jogging and cycling. That time in the morning could be used to charge the main watch. Much more useful this way since I won't be getting much by selling it

Yes you can. If you setup another Apple Watch in your phone, it does what’s called auto switching between the one being worn. I have multiple watches (kept my old ones), but have only one in rotation. OP, I use my SS for everything including bike rides, runs, swims, and crossfit (although most of that diminished this past year). I was always happier with SS because of the stainless steel body and sapphire glass. I felt less likely to break it while working out.

Also, OP, I just got a new SS Series 5 44mm from Best Buy for $440. I received it yesterday and works fine. At that price, it doesn’t matter if it has the cellular if you do not activate it

I have always had two Apple watches. I buy two because I like to always wear a watch. I don't buy them to each have a purpose. When one needs charging, I charge it and put on the other watch. My two aluminum series 4 watches still last me a day and half each just as they did when I bought them new two years ago in April. They have cellular that I have only had activated maybe a few months. I just buy them with cellular just in case.

I believe you can have up to 5 watches paired with one phone. I have three, and auto switch works great. Your phone knows which one is on your wrist (or was on your wrist last).

Just as an FYI, you don’t need cellular activated to use Apple Pay on the watch 👍
I stand corrected, but it would never work on my S0 watch, if I did not have my phone in my pocket then it would not validate the purchase.

I didn’t have the original watch so not sure why. Maybe it was a hardware limitation but essentially, it should have behaved just like a contactless bank card. Either way, you certainly don’t need a phone around anymore 👍

That was the only non-cellular watch I have owned. The other cellular features are enough reason I would not likely ever get a non-cellular watch again.
