I'm thinking that there is going to be an obvious gap between where the LCD screen ends and the white bezel begins. I sort of envision it to be like a photo frame (the bezel) surrounding a photo (the LCD screen) that doesn't extend completely to the frame. On the black model I would think that this gap is essentially invisible because it will blend into the bezel. Am I correct?

There definitely is and it bothers me because it also doesn't seem the gap is exactly the same on both sides. It exist on the black too, but isn't noticeable. I picked up the white and hate it. The screen keeps going crazy and it reboots itself anyways, so it's going back and I ordered a black one.

I should add that insignificant details like this don't bother me. But the gap does exist, if you won't like it definitely go with the black. It'll be much less noticeable.

Do I see it if I look for it? Yeah. Does it stand out in any way to me? Not at all.

This places is filled with people who will obsess over any tiny detail.

It's not a tiny detail. Part of the iPad's "magical" appeal is that fact that the front is in Apple's own words, "one big, beautiful display". The white one takes away from this attribute by clearly demarcating the screen from the rest of the device.

Then, why'd you get white?

I can see what you mean looking at my friends white ipad2, took me a few minutes to notice it. I just like black better hehe

That's why I chose black. Seemed to me the white would distract from the screen. Looks nice from what i saw. But prefer my black

I saw the white one at the apple store and I thought it looked kind of yellowy. My eye is just more accustomed to the contrast the black provides so I went with the black.

Love it!!:)
