Its clear the home button is now gone forever so I’m wondering how things will be when I eventually upgrade from my 7 plus. The biggest thing I am questioning is about all the apps I use that have finger ID integrated into their passcode, I use mobile banking apps, mortgage app, PayPal etc and all are very simple for me to open because they can all use my fingerprints. Does the X still have this convience? Do apps like these work with the Face ID or is there no shortcut other than manually inputting the passcode?

FaceID works in the same way.

Thanks, that’s good to know. So let’s say I want to open my cap1 app, it just looks at me and opens?

Can't speak for that exact app's behavior, but that's how my BOA app works. When it did it for the first time, it felt like Magic. Totally changed my thoughts on managing my passwords.

Exactly!!!

Any app that used fingerprint on my 7 Plus, now uses FaceID, including my two banking apps. Very convenient imho.

Yes, works just like that (and yes the CapitolOne app has faceID). I have an iPhone X since launch day and can tell you that I will take FaceID over TouchID any day. It is so much more convenient and natural than TouchID was.

Any Touch ID app will automatically switch to "Face ID"...even though sometimes the outdated app will still label it Touch ID, or show a picture of a Fingerprint (Looking at your Simple bank!, & Proprietary work apps!)

All my apps that used touch ID now use face ID to log in.
