question how to move my windows formated 30 gig ipod between mac osx tiger/windowsxp

It sounds like you want to be able to use it on both Mac and Windows machines...is that correct?

Leave it formatted for Windows...both machines will be able to see it. But all software updates will have to be done through the PC.

ya i realized that i should have left my iPod windows format after i formatted it for apple, now i can't use my iPod as a portable HD with a PC.
That really bugs me.
Your iPod works fine if it's windows format but uploading songs from a mac.
But i don't know if it's just me, but when it;s in windows format my iPod seemed to be a bit slow.

MacDrive will allow windows to read a Mac formatted iPod.

ya but is MacDrive a program that i have to install on any PC i want to use it on?

When my iPod was windows formatted i could just plug it into any computer windows or mac and it would just work
