So I accidentally ripped the earpiece of this iPhone.
The phone says that a problem was detected with the true depth camera. Face ID is disabled.
Now my question is, is this because the flood illuminator not available or do I have a problem with TrueDepth camera too?
The earpiece if there is a jailbreak can be fixed. But is there a problem at the dot matrix ? I’m saying it again, I have ripped the earpiece.

"ripped earpiece"?
So, you damaged the area near the cameras/sensors.
Seems likely that damage would easily involve the truedepth camera, etc.
How about a picture?

I assembled the iPhone back again so no picture.
The earpiece I changed it with another one called JC FPC receiver earpiece.
The bracket that holds the front camera and the dot projector is intact.
But I have this message and I wonder if something happened to the dot projector. But nothing touched it.
At portrait mode I have this move further away and the square thing follows my face
I don’t think the dot projector has a problem. But I want to make sure

I am unfortunately not an iPhone expert, just a searcher, with a bit of interest...
Doesn't the true depth camera use the dot projector for, well, determining true depth by scanning the results of the dot projector? So, the error message may mean that the dot projector is not working, therefore the true depth camera can't find any "dots" to scan. And, then the problem could be either the dot projector is not working, or the true depth camera is simply faulty.
Perhaps it is something simple, like you moved the truedepth camera out of its calibrated position.
Or, you accidentally un-seated a connector that goes to those sensors.
Could be that you have to open it up, and try reseating the connectors in that area of the iphone.
Or, just replace that camera module (not sure what is possible there)
Or, some sensor is faulty, or the system/logic board is faulty
If you just want to try replacing something - I would try replacing the truedepth camera (if that is possible), as that, to me, makes the most sense. (Will you have to wait another couple of months before you try that repair?)
But, then again, an XS Max is 4 years old. Is it worth fixing now?

Yes the TrueDepth camera is using dot projector. When I use portrait mode it says move further away. For that kind of message it might come from the flood illuminator not functioning due to the ripped earpiece. But that’s my idea and only idea for it.
I want to determine if this missage including the “a problem was detected with the true depth camera. Face ID is disabled” is from the dot projector being faulty.
