Question on Apple Watch

If I buy an Apple watch with cellular, can I get a separate number for the watch and still sync it to my iPhone.

I need a device that will help me function without my phone in hand or even out and about. But when I'm inside I'd like to be able to answer calls to my iPhone on my watch.

if you get a cellular plan for your watch it will function the way you want it to... except the watch will just use the same number as your phone. So when you are without your phone and someone calls your phone your watch will ring.

Technically they do assign a separate phone number for your watch but you don't use that one as it piggy packs off the main number.
