Hello,

I heard from somebody that Apple has changed the way you can purchase Applecare. In the past I have purchased Applecare for iphone from ebay at a significant discount to what the apple store has and the system accepted it, but not anymore.

Can somebody shed some light on what the new rules?

Thanks,

I don't want the square trade warranty($99+$50 deductible) which is almost the cost of the subsidized iphone itself, I am happy with the Applecare warranty and what it provides.

There have been several threads where AC bought on eBay was denied by Apple when they went to use it. Apple requires a receipt for AC when you use it. Best bet is to buy it from an authorized reseller who discounts. Good luck.
