Question on AT&T pre-order iphone 4s

Hey all, quick silly question, i'd rather try pre ordering on apples website rather then heading into the store. Two months ago i gave my wife my upgrade so she could get the 3gs, she was up this month for an upgrade, i knew there would be a refresh of a new phone coming out so I figured I would just wait it out. The sales rep told me i would be fine come October to upgrade my phone, but when i log into apple's or AT&T's website, it shows i'm not eligible on my number, but if i type hers in, she is still eligible. Can i just order the phone under her number and be ok once the phone arrives? Never ordered a phone from apple directly, so not sure how that would work.

You can order under her number but it'll just sign another contract. People do it all the time.

you will be fine, when the phone comes in swap out the SIM and be sure to call ATT and change the IMEI on your account
