question on dual layer ripping

Howdy Folks;

Can someone please explain Dual layer recording - is it the media I am recording on thaht matters or do I need a dual layer

In my computer is a Matshita UJ-825- -- I clicked on the Apple , more about this computer , and under hardware I have nothing telling me about my DVD/

To find out if your computer has a DL drive (can't tell if the drive you specify is or not), go to the apple website and look up your specs. If you do have DL then you will need to buy DL DVD media.
