Question on exporting original iPhoto image to external hard drive

I use a MAC of course. I organize/store in iPhoto. I edit in PSE6. I have been taking action shots in RAW. I have approx. 5,000 RAW images which are rather large. I would like to transfer/export some of my RAW images to my external hard drive...exporting both the original version and the modified version. When I was using PSE "5" this was no problem. Now that I am using PSE "6" I can't seem to get the original image to show up as the original image in the external hard drive. I've drug it there...I've exported it there....I've exported it to a fold on the desk top and then drug it there. The image will go to the hard drive but it is the modified version and not the original version. Could someone please help? Thank you so much.
