Question on Facebook Profile Pics

So I just came back to the iPhone and facebook has been updated with profile picture and contact integration. My question is that when I assign a pic for someone and they call it takes up the whole background of the screen. When the facebook profile picture is set I only see a small cube that is next to their name. Is this normal? Is there anyway to make these photos be full screen?
