Question on getting new iPhone and moving number

Hello. First off I did try and Google this. :)

Me and my wife both got iPhone 4's on launch day last year. I want to now get her a new white iPhone and give her existing iPhone 4 to our daughter. We are on a family plan and I will be adding our daugter to it for $10 and giving her the $15 200MB data plan.

Now I obviously need to get the new number on her existing phone for her daugter and get my wifes number on the new white iPhone.

Is this allowed? If so how do I go about getting it done.
