So I have (2) 23.7" Ultrafine monitors hooked up to a 16" MBP. I have been running it in clamshell so that my temperatures and fans stay down.

However, I have begun to get bothered by the fact I am not utilzing many features I paid for in the MBP. Such as the fingerprint sensor, awesome speakers, display, and touch-bar.

So I have decided to open the lid and I am now using both 23.7" displays and the internal. This causes my temps to sit in the 70's with minor multitasking applications like chrome and mail etc....havnt tried anything intense yet like CAD etc....kind of scared lol.

Thoughts on this? Would you just run it clamshell or screw it...run it all?

70s are absolutely fine, if it was pinned at 100C constantly maybe I'd be concerned, but you should expect higher than desktop CPU temperatures for your laptop.
