Question on swapping sim cards

If I have a UK full price iPhone 4 which is unlocked, what happens when I swap sims? I've got my standard AT&T sim and plan to get a UK sim only plan while in the UK. Does the carrier file get updated when I swap phones?

I'm assuming there is no issue between the sims. And yes, I plan to cut down my AT&T sim from my 3GS to 4.

I'll use whatever carrier data for the swapped sim it has on board, the phone carries several for all the official carriers, or generic unlocked fully editable state if it's a non official carrier.
