I have a new external hard drive and I'm trying to copy all of my movie files to it to free up space on my computer. Quick question. When I tried just copying them directly to the drive without using TM, the file total was around 210 GB, but when I tried using TM it was only 87 GB. Any idea why it would be different? I selected the same exact files, and double-checked, so that's not the reason. I just want to make sure I use the best method and don't end up losing any files afterwards.
