I have a 2016 iMac that I was going to trade in to Apple for the new Mac Mini. I have two questions and wanted to see if anyone could provide some insight to me here.

The shipping for my configuration would be early December for the Mac Mini. Do I get to keep using my iMac until I get the Mac Mini in? The website says I have 14 days to ship it to them but its a little fuzzy on if its 14 days from the day I purchase or 14 days from the day I actually receive the Mini.

Also, would you guys recommend the LG 5K display? I have read some good reviews on it but was curious as to what real users thought of it and how you liked it.

Thanks!

Regarding the first question: You have 14 days after the delivery of your new mini to ship your iMac.

I have the 5k. The mini runs ok with it with 16gb+ RAM. As long as its the new version (allows 4K via usb-c, 5k via TB3), i think its fine. You’re not going to find another 5k in that price range. Having integrated webcam and (albiet weak) speakers is a bonus. However, it really shines as a dock for macbooks, but that doesn’t take away from its use with a mini. Picture quality is fantastic. It is the same panel used in the 5K iMac.

Thank you so much for the input. Much appreciated.
