Question on Updating Apps

I have one MBP, several IOS devices including my daughters iPod.

What is the best way to manage updates automatically, i.e. my iPad has 60 updates or so right now that need to be done.

Can Apps be set to update automatically?

If I update an App on one device will it propagate to the other devices?
