Question on updating to new phone and updated apps?

My issue is i do not want to update to a new version of one particular app and i will be getting the new iphone in a few months. I turned off auto update and manually update my apps because i don't want to update this one app.
Am i forced to have the new version of the app when i get a new phone with ios10?
