Hello,

I am a pay monthly customer with a iPhone 3G and I am able to upgrade in November to a 3G S. My question is, will I be able to upgrade for free to the 3G S or will I have to pay for the phone in November?

I had a search for an answer on the forum but could not find anything answering my question

Thanks

Harry

It's like starting a new contract, you will need to pay for the new phone.

Ok then,

Just to confirm (me being thick) I can't get a free iPhone 3GS like I did at launch of 3G if I am not on the tariff where I Get that free?

I assume you had an original? You got the 3G free becuase the cost of the phone was subsidised across the contract, unlike the original.

The only way to get the iPhone free is on the 24-month contract.

And the cheapest tariff you can go on is the £45pm and only the 16GB is free.

I upgraded to the 32gb 3Gs on a 2 year contract, got the handset for free and the line rental, which should have been £45 a month down to £25 a month.

However i was probably in a unique situation, i had been spending on average £300 a month on my bill so had ample room to barter with the retentions team
