Heylo. Ever I since I bought a new iPod video, I've been researching into video formats. My knowledge with video codecs etcetra ectetra isn't too good so I decided to ask all my questions on here.

The concerned iPod video is a G5.5 Can it play all video formats like .mov .avi .mpeg. mp4 .wmv (kinda doubt the .wmv). I heard Quicktime isn't too found of .avi but works with .mov . Is this the same reason why iTunes won't work with .avi either?

I've been playing around with video formats and I experimented with .mp4 which works on Quicktime and iTunes. Which video format (and a high/good quality) should I convert a movie file to play on this new iPod video? Also are any other other formats/specifications? Thanks a bunch!

Anyone? Sorry for being impatient, but this ipod is a present for my dad and I need to fill him in on these details!
