iPhone 11 Pro Question Pro Max gold colour

I was at the Apple store yesterday and I picked up one of the pro max gold and I noticed that the gold stainless steal on the sides were getting discoloured almost like it’s tarnishing, I’m worried because I went with gold this time around and don’t really want to see this happen on a device this expense, has anyone who also have the gold notice any issues?

Sorry, I personally don't have a gold version, but I do think if this were an issue, you'd see several threads about it. Don't forget the demo models are potentially subject to several hundreds of people touching/handling them. Who only knows what these people have on their hands, not to be gross. I wouldn't worry about it.

And the sad thing is, usually people seem to try to "test" the durability of the demo units, so you never know what that phone has been subjected to.

I have the Gold Pro and what you are seeing are just fingerprints on the steel frame which wipe right off.

Actually I did try to wipe it off and nothing happened lol, it doesn’t at all look like finger prints it looks more like discoloured brass lol

I typically go without a case and what you are describing is what I see on my gold stainless steel frame all the time. My phone is not tarnished and looks like the day I purchased it. I’m not sure what you saw on the phone at the  store.

I have a gold 11 Pro and I’ve not noticed any issues so far.

There are no marks like this on my gold 11 Pro and weren't on my gold XS in the year I had it. I do use an Apple leather case but the bottom of phone is open and no marks there.
