My housemate has vision difficulties and would like to purchase a monitor to use with his older (no m1 chip) iPad, to have a larger screen with which to work. We’ve been reading about doing this, and the articles point out that the monitor will merely mirror the iPad screen of an older iPad. But our question is, once the app is mirrored on the monitor, can you then use a mouse and keypad connected to the monitor to do your work? Or must you do your work within the app on the iPad itself and the monitor is just for seeing whatever you’re doing on the iPad?
For example, if he is reading and responding to emails, his email app would be open on the iPad and mirrored on the monitor. The monitor will have a mouse and keyboard connected to it. Can he use the mouse and keyboard connected to the monitor to click on an email on the monitor and write a response using the keyboard connected to the monitor? Or is he restricted to doing these actions on the iPad, and the Monitor is just going to provide a bigger screen for him to see what he’s doing on the iPad?
thanks in advance for your responses.
