iPod touch question re. nook app

I have been unable to find how to lock the screen when reading. A friend using the nook app for droid has an option to do so. Am I over looking something or can this not be done when using the nook version for iphone/touch?

Also, is there another app that read books purchased from Barnes & Noble?
