Is there any indication of which model of SSD Apple is choosing as upgrade option?

I am happy that Apple now supports SSD option for Mac Pro, therefore must be some changes to hard drive trays to fit the 2.5" drives without looking for adaptors.

Will purchase base quad model and put is SSD for boot drive, use stock HD for storage.

Probably Samsungs, as Apple has been using in the past. This would definitely be true of the 512GB option, considering Samsung has the only one available in a 2.5" drive form factor.

No they don't say, afaik. They'd likely use adaptors to make the SSDs fit in teh trays. FYI, I'd avoid buying their SSD, grab a brand that's good (I use Intel's X25-M G2).
