Question re Unlocking Methods and unlcoking twice

Have a friend that used the pay unlocking method and if works fine on T-Mobile, however he is travleing and wantes to drop another SIM card in. The method he used requires that he activate once the new sim card is in. He does this with iNdepence.

The question is can he use the GUI unlock so he does not have to activate going forward ?
