I was just on the phone with apple support tech, he told me that it's ok to have 7200rpm inside of macbook 13"s but he don't recommend it because it can get hot, with overheating issues.. it's a shame because I was going with the scorpio wd 750gb 7200rpm.. So I was wondering if any of you guys with 2011 MBP 13" have this issue installing a 7200rpm?? I noticed Apple didn't have the option to upgrade it to it on their site. Thanks

Search is your friend.

This has been discussed repeatedly here. I have posted that every 7200 RPM drive I tried in a 13" 2.3 GHz created an unacceptable amount of vibration, and since went back to a 500 GB 5400 RPM drive.

There's more, a lot more floating around.

I have a WD Scorpio Black 750 Gb in a MBP 15", and it's nearly silent, with no vibration at all. I can't tell the difference from the OEM 320 Gb 5400 rpm.
I don't see how it could be any different on a 13".
