Question regarding icloud

Never used icloud before, and before I start, needed a clarification.

I use Dropbox, and if by error, a file gets deleted in my DB folder, it gets deleted across all devices right? Is it the same in icloud? Or can I retrieve a file there if I delete locally on my computer?

Yes... it works pretty much like DB and will delete everywhere. But you can restore deletes for up to 30 days from icloud.com or the iOS app.
