iPod Question regarding iTunes a synced iPod and Videos

Is it just me or is it impossible to manually add Videos and TV shows to an 5G iPod Video while it is set to sync with your iTunes Music Library. Note that I don't have it set to sync with my Movies or TV Shows.

For reference I'm running iTunes 7.0.1 on 10.4.8 on a 12" 1.33Ghz iBook.
